1st Skerton Boys Brigade
The Boys Brigade is an International Christian Organization established in 1883, the 1’st Skerton Company was formed 20 years ago. It is part of St Luke’s Church, Skerton.
The 1'st Skerton Boys Brigade works with children aged 8 years and upwards. The junior section {8 to 11 yrs} meets on a Friday 6.30 till 8pm and the Company section {11 to 14 yrs} meets at 8pm on a Friday as well.
We provide a safe and friendly atmosphere, for your son to come and take part in the various activities organised by our leaders, we have outlined some of the activities below;
Football - We will be focusing on football, which is what most boy’s enjoy, including competitions.
- Camping - Always a very popular activity in our groups.
- Awards - Earning badges and awards through tasks and challenges
- Crafts - Making things, i.e. cooking, drawing, colouring
- Group - As well as working on their own, the boys work as a team, on quizzes and other challenges we set.
- Games - Various games from Cricket to Dodge ball and many others.
- Plus - Trips out like swimming at the University and Salt Aire, Sandcastle at Blackpool, Camelot theme park plus others.
The first week is free, then only £1.00 each week. We are based at Skerton Methodist Hall, Owen Road, Skerton, Lancaster (next to Skerton High School).
